Vodafone selected Azingo LiMo platform which support Flash Lite

In September 2008, Azingo announced a partnership with Adobe to support Flash 3.1 on the mobile Linux based platform named LiMo — LiMo Foundation is a consortium of mobile industry leaders (including Vodafone) to deliver an open and globally consistent handset software platform based upon mobile Linux.

Azingo integrated Flash Lite into its mobile browser - based on WebKit - enabling rich-media and video content available on a Linux mobile platform.

Today, Vodafone selected Azingo to develop and deploy innovative and customized applications for LiMo platform based mobile phones.

As a reminder, to date:

  • Six operators commit to Linux launches: DoCoMo, Orange, SK Telecom, Telefónica, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone
  • 33 commercial handset models have been certified as LiMo Compliant, including ten due for exhibition at Mobile World Congress from NEC and Panasonic, and prototype models from LG Electronics and Samsung.
